National Olympiad of English language in Vilnius

On February 24th in Vilnius, Vytautas Didysis gymnasium, was held National English Olympiad, where our student Emilija Petrauskaitė participated with her English teacher Aušra Andriekienė. On an early and cold Saturday’s morning we got into a car and drove all the way to our capital. Right after we showed up in Vilnius gymnasium we had been welcomed and greeted by organisers and teachers of English. In the begining of the event the head of a Lithuanian non-formal student education center couldn’t stop praising all the students for their coming. All of the organisers were glad that Lithuania has so much of bright minded people. After a few minutes passed and the opening ceremony had finished all the student rushed to the classrooms and started preparing for the writing task. The subject of writing task was a girl named Malala, who won a Nobel peace award for fights against women underestimation. After the writing task we had a little break just to get some rest and then we got to complete our speaking task. Lastly, after all of the hard work was done, the student got a chance to explore the Old Town of Vilnius and to get to know its history. All in all, I can state, that these type of events gets you a lot of experience in different kinds of subjects also the information we got will definetely help in our future.
